What it means

Requirements

- Must not violate public order or morality
- Must be capable of graphical representation

Requirements and Steps
Step 1
Trademark Search
Conduct a search to ensure the proposed trademark is not already registered or confusingly similar to existing marks.
Step 2
Filing Application
Submit a completed trademark application form with details of the mark, applicant, and class of goods or services.
Step 3
Formal Examination
Submit a completed trademark application form with details of the mark, applicant, and class of goods or services.
Step 4
Publication
The trademark is published in the Official Journal to allow for opposition from third parties.
Step 5
Opposition Period
A specified period is provided for any objections or oppositions to be filed against the trademark.
Step 6
Registration & Certificate
If no opposition is successful, the trademark is registered and a certificate of registration is issued.
Important Note: A registered trademark in Liberia is valid for 10 years and can be renewed indefinitely upon payment of renewal fees.
